Following the Honda Civic 2024, the Acura ZDX 2024 will get integration with Google software. Moreover, this will be the first electric car with built-in search giant services, the ability to use Android applications and receive software updates over the air.
The Japanese brand’s upcoming SUV will reportedly come to market with apps like Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play. Built-in Google integration will become standard on all ZDX model trim levels. It is worth recalling that Google has a special software called Google Automotive Services, in which the applications and services of the search giant are directly integrated into the car.
This is different from Android Auto, a wrapper app that simply lets you cast your smartphone to your car’s infotainment screen, and also different from Android Automotive OS, where Android controls the entire operating system.
Previously, Honda used Android-based software, but it lacked most of the Google services.
Acura ZDX owners will receive an enhanced version of Google Maps, which is geared towards planning and creating routes based on charging stations, according to Honda representatives. The map service will calculate the charging time required to reach your destination and suggest the steps needed to precondition the EV battery.
Honda used custom Android-based software in some of its cars in the past, but most of the Google services were missing. Now with a built-in voice assistant and maps, you can easily control the climate, music and other things. Earlier this year, Google announced that it intends to integrate more Google Automotive Services-enabled car apps and services, including third-party solutions. It was then about YouTube, Waze and Zoom.

As for the Acura ZDX, the luxury SUV is a lot like the Precision EV concept car unveiled last year. The car is built on the General Motors Ultium architecture, which supports the latest systems and technologies and will be the brand’s first model sold exclusively online.
