Samsung has unveiled new OLED monitors. The latest Odyssey OLED models have unique burn-in protection. The Smart Monitor M8 and the Odyssey OLED G8 are equipped with AI functions for crystal-clear video and audio.
Samsung Odyssey: more efficient workplaces with the new ViewFinity models
Display maker Samsung today launches its latest Odyssey OLED, Smart Monitor and ViewFinity models. The new product lines are equipped with much-requested, but also a number of unexpected new features. The Odyssey OLED G8 and the Smart Monitor M8 have new AI functions and with the extensive connection of the ViewFinity series a complete workplace can be created.

Odyssey OLED: unique protection against burn-in
The new 2024 Odyssey OLED models are the Odyssey OLED G8 (the G80SD model) and Odyssey OLED G6 (the G60SD model).
The new Odyssey OLED G8 is Samsung’s first gaming monitor with AI. The NQ8 AI Gen3 processor, the same processor Samsung uses in its 2024 8K TV, upscales the image to almost 4K when using the monitor’s Smart TV apps. This gives users a better resolution when gaming and watching series.
Both new OLED models are equipped with Samsung OLED Safeguard+. This new, patented technology is the first in the world to prevent burn-in by adding a pulsating heat pipe to the monitor. In addition, the Dynamic Cooling System distributes heat five times more effectively than the older method. The monitor also automatically lowers the brightness of static images such as logos and taskbars to prevent burn-in in yet another way. All this should extend the lifespan of the displays.
Samsung’s new OLED Glare Free technology ensures beautiful colors and reduces reflections, while the image remains sharp, even in daylight. The coating layer optimized for OLED ensures that there is no glare and reflection.
Both monitors have an ultra-thin, recognizable metal design. Core Lighting+ provides mood lighting that syncs with the screen during gaming and other activities. Long sessions become more comfortable thanks to the ergonomic stand that can tilt, swivel and is height-adjustable.
Smart Monitor M8: AI for crystal-clear video and audio
The updated Smart Monitor models of 2024 are the M8 (the M80D model), the M7 (the M70D model) and the M5 (the M50D model).
The 32” 4K UHD Smart Monitor M8 has new AI functions, which are controlled by the NQM AI processor. For example, AI upscaling can boost lower resolutions to almost 4K and Active Voice Amplifier Pro uses AI to analyze ambient noise and optimize the sound for users. 360 Audio Mode is available on the M8, where with Galaxy Buds it is as if users are part of the action.
In addition, the Smart Monitor range now also has a Workout Tracker, which can be linked to a Galaxy Watch so users can see real-time health data on the screen. This makes it easier and more fun to achieve training goals.
The Smart TV apps and Samsung TV Plus provide instant access to various streaming services and live content, without users having to boot up a PC or connect to other devices.
The M7 is available in 32″ and 43″ versions with a 4K UHD resolution (3,840 x 2,160), a brightness of 300 nits (typical), a refresh rate of 60.Hz and a GtG response time of 4ms. The M5 is available in 27” and 32” versions, with FHD resolution (1,920 x 1,080), a brightness of 250 nits (typical), a refresh rate of 60Hz and a GtG response time of 4ms.
ViewFinity: maximum creativity and ease of use
The latest ViewFinity range was developed for creative professionals and includes the ViewFinity S8 (the S80UD and S80D models), the ViewFinity S7 (the S70D model) and the ViewFinity S6 (the S60UD and S60D models).
The monitors are made with at least 10% recycled plastic and no chemical sprays are applied to the plastic parts. The packaging uses glue instead of staples, making it easy to take apart for recycling.
The Easy Setup Stand can be assembled with one quick click, without the need for tools or screws. Finally, Intelligent Eye Care prevents eye strain during long sessions.
The ViewFinity S8 (S80UD and S80D) is available in 27” and 32” versions, each with a resolution of 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160), a refresh rate of 60.Hz and a brightness of 350 nits (typical). The monitors also have a handy USB hub and a height-adjustable stand.
The ViewFinity S7(S70D) is available in 27” and 32” versions, each with UHD 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160), a brightness of 350 nits (typical) and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. The ViewFinity S6 (S60UD and S60D) is available in 24″, 27″ and 32″ versions, each with a QHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440), a refresh rate of 100 Hz and a brightness of 350 nits (typical ). Includes USB hub and height-adjustable stand.
