Since the introduction of Focal’s Bathys on -ear wireless headphones in October 2022, their popularity has continued to grow among both consumers and the international press. French audio leader Focal continues to improve its first wireless noise-cancelling headphones with a new Dune design , as well as an additional feature that allows users to tailor the sound of the Bathys to their hearing needs.
Focal has developed a luminous finish that will join the Bathys collection, contrasting with the existing Black Silver finish and catering to the different tastes of its customers. The Dune finish, which complements the base Black Silver design, is applied to the headphones, storage and carrying case, and even the cables. Dune’s design is inspired by quarry minerals, Greek landscapes and desert sands – spaces bathed in light. It combines beige color with silver details (grills, rings, etc.), creating an elegant and harmonious look. The neutral beige shade is easy to combine with any color of clothing. Following the approach taken in the Black Silver version, Bathys Dune combines exquisite materials (magnesium on the temples, genuine leather on the headband, etc.),
In an effort to offer the best to its customers, the Focal team has included a new feature in the headphones: the Mimi Hearing Test . Available through the Focal & Naim app , it allows users to customize the sound of Bathys to suit their hearing needs, allowing them to enjoy Focal sound regardless of test results. In other words, Bathys are now able to adapt to everyone’s hearing. Owners of Bathys headphones in Black Silver will now also be able to benefit from the new feature with an update to the Focal & Naim app .
Behind the Dune and Black Silver finishes are the same capabilities: outstanding sound for a pair of wireless headphones. Leveraging Focal’s expertise in high-end headphones, the Bathys deliver clear Hi-Fi audio over Bluetooth® 5.1 multipoint or a wired connection thanks to USB-DAC mode capable of decoding 24-bit/192kHz material. Made in France, the headphone drivers feature an aluminum-magnesium dome design that delivers deep bass, smooth highs and crystal-clear vocals. The listening experience is enhanced by perfect sound isolation: noise-cancelling technology includes an optimized “Silent” mode for traveling in noisy environments (planes, trains, etc.) and a “Soft” noise-cancelling mode to help users concentrate at home. Transparency mode is also available allowing, if necessary, to connect the user with the sounds of the environment. There is no shortage of other features: voice assistants, customizable equalizer, connectivity (Bluetooth®, mini-jack, USB).
In terms of battery life, these on-ear headphones can last up to 30 hours on a single charge using Bluetooth® wireless technology and active noise cancellation. They will be the ideal companion on all your travels, both by land and by air.
The Focal Bathys Wireless Over-Ear Headphones in the new Dune finish are available for a suggested retail price of $699.
