iFi Audio introduces the compact iDSD Diablo , which combined headphone amplifier and DAC.
The dimensions of the case of the novelty, made of aluminum, are 166 x 72 x 25 mm, the volume of the built-in battery is 4800 mAh . The device can also be powered via the USB-C port or the included iFi iPower power supply .
Headphones can be connected to the 6.35 mm jack and the balanced 4.4 mm jack, the 3.5 mm jack present here is designed to supply a digital signal in the SPIDF format . The main port for connecting digital signal sources is organized on USB-A , and on the male connector, which is rather atypical. A 4.4 mm balanced line output is provided for connecting an analog amplifier  .
The DAC unit is made on Burr-Brown chips , the processor-controller is a new generation 16-core XMOS . The model supports PCM 32/768 , DSD512 streams , plus it can decode MQA files in hardware . The amplifier’s output stages are built on the proprietary PureWave circuit and deliver up to 5 watts into 32 ohms when balanced. The device weighs 330 grams .
The iFi Audio iDSD Diablo Headphone Amplifier / DAC went on sale in Europe for € 1,000 .
