The JVC Gumy Mini HA-A6T , or simply JVC HA A6T, are budget-range wireless headphones, but despite that they defend themselves decently in terms of sound quality, comfort and autonomy, being capable of reaching up to 23 hours of use with the help of the charging case. Unlike other headphones in its series, these have a microphone, so they can be used as a hands-free device. Simply put, they’re great everyday TWS headphones that don’t cost much, so at least they’re worth looking into if they’re the kind of product you’re looking for.
On the other hand, if you prefer something designed to listen to music while training and exercising, perhaps we can interest you in the JVC HA-ET90BT , otherwise, it’s time to return to the main topic, the JVC HA-A6T.
JVC Gumy Mini HA-A6T Design
We’ll be honest from the start, these headphones look like nothing and for a price of around 30 euros, it’s not a surprise why. Still, they’re comfortable to wear and that’s what really matters at the end of the day.
Going into details, they have a stemless plastic body, which is very light (3.9 grams for each earphone) and consists of a single button. As you can expect, pressing that button a certain number of times serves to perform different actions, such as pausing the music, increasing the volume, going to the next song, etc.
The problem is that said button has a terrible response , it is difficult to press it and doing so means that the headphones sink into our ears, and if you are not used to this sensation it could be very annoying for you.
Leaving that aside, we can thank the fact that these headphones are IPX4 certified , which means that they are resistant to splashes of water and sweat.
The charging case is fine , having a matte finish in the same color as the earbuds, and a bit bulky. It’s almost as wide as the AirPods charging case, but it’s much thicker. It’s definitely still portable, but we’ll notice it more often. On the back of the charging case, there is a USB-C port for charging and on the front an indicator LED.
With all that said, we find these headphones available in 5 color presentations: Black, white, red, blue and green.
Sound
The JVC Gumy Mini HA-A6T is equipped with 6mm neodymium drivers capable of producing a fairly decent sound for the range to which these headphones belong; They do not impress in terms of audio, but they fulfill their function without us being able to put many buts. Although yes, it should be noted that they lack noise cancellation, transparency mode, sound equalization via app and any other luxurious function, since all of that is simply outside the scope of this range.
With that caveat out of place, we can delve into the audio quality. In this sense, the bass response is not bad at all . The headphones definitely offer a slight bass boost, but it’s not over the top. The mids are also decently tuned, and we can pick up some warmth in the low mids, with enough cut in the high mids for things like vocals and guitars. High-frequency response isn’t bad, though, as you’d expect from a pair of headphones in this price range, it doesn’t excel in clarity or detail.
The only thing we can really complain about is the fact that there is noticeable distortion at higher volume levels (and a bit in the middle of the spectrum). The distortion isn’t severe enough for all users to notice, but audiophiles (and higher-end earbud users) probably won’t be able to forgive this easily.
Changing the subject, the JVC HA A6T have a microphone, so we can use them for calls in hands-free mode. Additionally, they are compatible with voice assistants. As you might expect, the recording quality is mediocre at best.
Connectivity
Obviously they are Bluetooth headphones (version 5.1) , so the connection can only be wireless. However, it is our duty to clarify that the JVC HA A6T only work with SBC codecs, so high-resolution sources are off the table, but it doesn’t matter, because with their audio quality it is not possible to take advantage of them in the first place either. place.
In another order of ideas, its latency level is not very good, we will not notice it when watching videos or listening to music, but the delay when playing games or watching direct via Twicht is quite evident.
Battery
Finally, we have the issue of autonomy, and here it is a pleasant surprise to know that each earphone has a duration of 7 and a half hours, naturally, we can extend that duration with the charging case, which gives us about two additional recharges, which That brings the potential usage time to 23 hours in total , not bad for a headset in this price range.
With that said, the recharge time is quite fast, 2 hours is enough to get the headphones back to full capacity and in 2.5 hours the charging case does the same.
PROS
- Decent quality sound for the price
- Comfortable
- Good battery life
CONS
- The tactile buttons leave a lot to be desired.
- The plastic finish does not impress
