Block Audio has introduced its most compact hi-fi system, the MHF-50. This system features an integrated amplifier equipped with a slot-in CD player, along with a wide range of radio and streaming capabilities. It also comes with a pair of complementary speakers.
The Block MHF-50, the latest compact system from the German manufacturer Audioblock GmbH, is the smallest model they have produced to date. However, the designers assure that this compactness does not come at the expense of functionality. The system features a main unit that includes an integrated amplifier with a centrally positioned 4-inch color display, which is adjustable for brightness, along with two compact two-way bass reflex monitor speakers. The dimensions of the main unit are 300 x 234 x 106 mm (W x D x H), and it has a weight of 2.1 kilograms. The speakers are also designed to be compact, measuring 260 x 172 x 228 millimeters (H x W x D) and weighing 2.6 kilograms, making placement quite manageable.
The main unit housing is made of aluminium and is available in black, silver or white. The speakers are coloured to match.
The MHF-50 offers a wide range of radio functionalities. Users can select from the classic analogue FM band, as well as DAB+ and internet radio options. Each reception type allows for the storage of up to twenty stations for convenient access later. Additionally, the MHP-50 serves as an alarm clock and features a sleep timer.
Wireless network connectivity is available exclusively through WiFi. The MHP5 functions as a DLNA/UPnP streaming client, which can be managed using the Oktov app. Spotify can also be accessed via Spotify Connect. Furthermore, Bluetooth connectivity is included. On the rear, there is a stereo cinch line input with a sensitivity of 450 mVolt.
The amplifier is rated at 30 watts per channel when driving speakers with a four-ohm impedance. While the MHP-50 may not be considered a high-powered option, it is adequate for use in a study, children’s room, or bedroom. Additionally, it features a 3.5 millimeter jack plug for headphone output on the front.
Operation is via buttons on the front or with the supplied IR remote control.
