The Grandioso T1 turntable was created in honor of the 35th anniversary of the Esoteric brand and is the first analog device in the company’s history.
It is based on a registered patent (Japan Patent No. 6501130) for a non-contact disk drive mechanism – “Esoteric MagneDrive System”, which inductively synchronizes the rotation of the magnetic drive and the support disk, ensuring silent movement with high rotation speed accuracy.
At the same time, the support disk is free from any vibrations and there are no worries about the need to replace the belt. The motor drive is synchronized at a clock frequency of 10 MHz. The entire system is assembled in an independent configuration. According to the company, it “is the culmination of Esoteric’s unique design philosophy and mechanical/electronic technology.”
The player consists of 3 separate blocks: the main one, the motor and the power supply. The VCXO (Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillator) motor drive ensures precise rotation of the platter. It is possible to synchronize at a frequency of 10 MHz with the Grandioso G1X Master Clock clock generator. A micrometer knob on the front panel allows fine adjustment of sound characteristics by changing the strength of the magnetic field applied by the driver to the disc.
The three-layer chassis made of aluminum and wood allows for effective vibration control. The middle chassis is finished in beautiful piano lacquer. Vibration-isolating mounts have a special damping mechanism to suppress external vibrations. Two rotation speeds (33/45 rpm), adjustable with an accuracy of 0.1%. The T1 is available with or without the dynamically balanced TA-9D tonearm. Optional tonearm pads allow you to mount up to 3 tonearms on the T1.
