Musetec Audio has released a new flagship analog preamp, the MH SA001 , featuring completely separate left and right signal paths. Moreover, the case is even physically divided into two parts inside.
The preamplifier is fully class A , for which the company even developed its own volume control. After trying all the options on the market, from resistive arrays to expensive film potentiometers, the engineers settled on their own solution.
The input signal is converted to current and then fed to a matrix of low resistance resistors. The result is a 256-bar volume control in 0.25dB steps. The manufacturer claims a bandwidth of -1 dB from 0.1 Hz to 200 kHz with distortion not higher than 0.00025%. To connect signal sources, there are five inputs – three on RCA and two on XLR, two outputs – one pair of RCA and one pair of XLR. Device dimensions – 430 x 380 x 122 mm , weight – 12.2 kg .
The Musetec MH SA001 preamplifier went on sale for $5,499.
