Matrix Audio has released a new model of the mini-i Pro 4 streamer that has received Roon certification.
Compared to the third version, the speed of the central processor has actually quadrupled. Now this role is played by Quad Cortex-A55 with a frequency of 2 GHz. The ES9039Q2M converter from ESS Technology is used as a digital-to-analog converter .
The color touch screen of the device has increased by almost 3.5 inches. In addition to the control app and touch screen, the mini-i Pro 4 can be operated using the RM5 remote control included in the package.
Switching options have been expanded with the addition of an HDMI input with Audio Return Channel (HDMI-ARC) support. In addition to the already mentioned HDMI connector, the device has coaxial, optical and USB inputs. They support PCM768/DSD512 and MQA. There is also an analog input – for connecting, for example, a record player. Variable analog outputs are balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA.
To connect headphones, an unbalanced 6.35 mm and a balanced Pentaconn 4.4 mm are provided . At the latter, the power can reach almost 1 W at a load of 300 ohms. Connection to the home and worldwide network is carried out via gigabit Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi.
