SMSL has released a new desktop DAC VMV D2R , built on the top- end converter Rohm BD34301EKV .
To connect signal sources, the new product has all the necessary terminals – optical and coaxial connectors, balanced AES/EBU, HDMI I2S, USB-B. The latter is served by the XMOS XU-316 processor , which provides decoding of 32-bit/768 kHz PCM signals and native DSD512 stream . The model can also work with MQA files , including MQA-CD . The new CK-03 clock generator provides ultra-low jitter, making coax connections as good as USB.
The linear power supply contains a low-noise Noratel toroidal transformer . The device’s wireless capabilities include a Bluetooth adapter from Qualcomm that supports SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, LDAC codecs . The analog signal is output via one pair of unbalanced RCA connectors and a pair of balanced XLR connectors. The front panel is made of tempered glass, the model is equipped with a full-function remote control.
