Japanese brand Technical Audio Devices Laboratories ( TAD Labs ) introduced the TAD – C 1000 preamplifier in the Evolution series . The pre-amplifier is made in the strict design inherent in other components of the Evolution series – the TAD – D 1000 TX optical disc player , the TAD – DA 1000 TX external DAC unit and the TAD – M 1000 power amplifier.
TAD Labs has applied to the TAD-C1000 preamplifier an advanced single-stage current feedback amplifier derived from the M700 power amplifier, implemented with matched pairs of FETs specially selected for signal balance and stability.
Located in the center of the front panel of the TAD-C1000, the large volume knob features an exquisite appearance and smooth rotation due to the use of high-precision bearings in the design. The relay volume control circuit implements stepped resistance switching for gain control with minimal distortion. Each channel’s circuitry is symmetrically wired to minimize signal imbalance.
The robust metal chassis of the TAD-C1000 preamplifier, supported by proprietary spiked mounts, prevents internal circuitry from being affected by external vibrations. The power supply uses custom toroidal transformers to feed the audio and control circuits, and custom TAD electrolytic capacitors in the power filter. The signal circuits use low distortion film capacitors.
The TAD – C 1000 preamplifier is available in black and silver finishes. The novelty will go on sale in October 2023 for a suggested retail price of $24,950 .
