Magnetar lanuches UDP900 Flagship UHD Blu-ray Disc Player

The European brand Magnetar , owned by the French holding Archisoft , which also includes brands such as Zappiti and Reavon , has expanded its line of Ultra HD Blu-ray optical disc players with the flagship model Magnetar UDP900 . We talked  about the brand’s first turntable Magnetar UDP800 , and now we meet the big brother.

Outward differences of the Magnetar UDP900 include a 7.1 multichannel analog output on RCA connectors and a USB-B digital input for connecting a computer and using the player as an external DAC. In addition, the device is equipped with separate power supplies for the digital and analog parts of the circuit.

Otherwise, the Magnetar UDP900 player is similar to the younger model – it is based on the MediaTek MT8581 chipset, it supports all the same types of optical discs and file formats and is capable of playing high dynamic range video in various HDR formats, including Dolby Vision and HDR10 +. The body of the Magnetar UDP900 is made of aluminum alloy with a steel frame at the base, which explains why it is almost twice as heavy as the UDP800 (8kg vs. 15.5kg).

The Magnetar UDP900 is already available in Europe for a suggested retail price of €2,500 , which is €900 more than the UDP800.
