Zidoo has announced a new line of five 4K media players. The series includes models Z9X Pro, Z20 Pro, Z2000 Pro, Z2600 and UHD5000 . The new products are based on a quad-core 64-bit RTD1919BPD processor from Realtek, which provides a performance increase of approximately 20% compared to previous generation models. In addition, the new products support video decoding in AV1 format and improved Dolby VS10 functionality for converting HDR video to SDR.
The players are equipped with HDMI 2.1 ports that support 12-bit HDR10+, Dolby Vision and 4K 60 Hz. There is also Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6. The players are equipped with 4 GB of RAM and run Android 11 OS with Widevine L1 DRM support.
Zidoo Z9X Pro is the most affordable player in the new line ( 249 euros ). It supports 4K, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. You can connect an external drive with a USB interface to the player.
Zidoo Z20 Pro ( 369 euros ) is similar to the Z9X Pro, but it has an internal bay for installing a 2.5” hard drive with a capacity of up to 16 TB.
The first big leap in terms of capabilities comes from the Zidoo Z2000 Pro , which retails at ( €559 ). The player has a slim body with an LED panel, a switching power supply, hidden Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antennas, and an internal hard drive bay that can hold up to 16 TB.
The next model, Zidoo Z2600 ( €669 ), has an elegant brushed metal front panel and a built-in switching power supply. The player is equipped with separate HDMI outputs for video and audio, which provides greater installation flexibility. The device also has an internal hard drive bay, which can have a capacity of up to 16 TB.
Finally, the older model Zidoo UHD5000, priced at 1,099 euros, is equipped with an ESS9068 DAC chip and separate power supplies for the analog and digital units of the player. The device supports MQA and DSD512 decoding and is equipped with analog balanced XLR outputs and two drive bays with a capacity of up to 16 TB each.
The new items will go on sale in early October 2023, and pre-orders are already being accepted.
