Huawei will try to “beat” the media announcement of the new generation of iPhone, which will take place on September 9. The day after the release of Apple smartphones, the Chinese company will present a smartphone that can fold in three. Huawei calls the future new product “an epochal product” in which a significant amount of investment has been made. The smartphone with a flexible display, which Huawei will release, will be a serial device. However, its future and prospects are still unclear.
Competition among mobile device manufacturers is gradually entering a new phase. In addition to camera capabilities, new competitive advantages are now coming into play: features based on artificial intelligence, as well as advanced display technologies. It is at this juncture that the new iPhone 16 (Pro/Pro Max) smartphones and the as-yet unnamed flagship from Huawei are located.

Huawei’s head of consumer electronics Richard Yu announced on Chinese social network Weibo that the manufacturer will release a “milestone product” on September 10 .
It took five years to develop a smartphone with a new generation folding display technology. The amount of investment is not disclosed, but it was significant. Several foreign sources immediately clarified that on September 10, the Chinese company will release a serial version of the new smartphone, which folds in two places.

Huawei will install two hinges in this smartphone, allowing the device to be folded twice. But what’s the point?
The whole point is that this technical solution allows working not with a 7-8 inch screen (as in standard Fold smartphones), but actually with a full-fledged tablet with a 10 inch panel. Thus, the new Huawei smartphone will be able to act as a full-fledged replacement for a large tablet for the first time.
A number of specialized publications write that the design may have some drawbacks. For example, the presence of two folds on the screen due to the use of two hinges, as well as the increased cost of components due to the larger display size and an additional hinge. The repairability of such a device is also still in great question.
The Huawei smartphone-tablet may also get advanced camera capabilities. The implementation of photo and video shooting functions is one of the strongest sides of the Chinese manufacturer.

Some of its characteristics have already been revealed. Firstly, Huawei Mate 70 Pro will receive the Kirin 9100 processor. The main module of the main camera block of Mate 70 Pro will have a 60-megapixel sensor, and the main camera block of the device will also include: a 12-megapixel sensor for wide-angle shooting and a 48-megapixel sensor with 5x zoom.
Secondly, the new Huawei Mate 70 Pro smartphone is also credited with a 48MP front camera, which will work in tandem with a 3D ToF sensor. It will replace the 32MP camera sensor used in the Mate 60 Pro model.
Interestingly, in the second quarter of this year, Huawei managed to displace Apple from the top five largest smartphone suppliers for the first time.
However, there are no details yet about the innovative smartphone from Huawei with a flexible display that folds in three. The price of the future new product is also not disclosed.
