Today, September 8, Huawei, in addition to the Mate 60 Pro+ smartphone , introduced a new foldable model – Mate X5. As the successor to the Mate X3 smartphone, the new product has received a number of internal changes, while the design of the gadget has remained virtually unchanged.
The smartphone is based on an unnamed processor of its own design, however, according to journalists from GSM Arena, it is Kirin 9000s with 12 cores and a frequency of 3.3 GHz. The amount of RAM is up to 16 GB, the storage capacity is 1 TB.
Huawei Mate X5 has a main 7.85-inch LPTO OLED display with a resolution of 2224 × 2496 pixels. The internal screen is also LPTO OLED, but with a smaller diagonal – 6.4 inches. It is capable of displaying images at a resolution of 1080 × 2504 pixels and is protected by Kunlun Glass.
The main camera module has changed slightly, but the set of sensors remains the same: 50 MP (main) + 13 MP (ultra-wide-angle) + 12 MP (periscope).
The built-in rechargeable battery has a capacity of 5060 mAh. It supports 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Support for 7.5W reverse charging is also announced.
The new product runs on the HarmonyOS 4.0 operating system.
A distinctive feature of the gadget is an antenna with artificial intelligence algorithms. It automatically selects a network to ensure optimal signal and connection levels. There is protection against moisture according to the IPX8 standard. Like the Huawei Mate 60 Pro+, the foldable smartphone supports satellite communications. There is no information about the cost yet.
