Samsung has announced the start of open beta testing of the next version of its user interface for smartphones and tablets, One UI 6, based on the Android 14 software platform. At this stage, owners of the manufacturer’s flagship devices can take part in testing.
According to reports, the One UI 6 beta is currently available on the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphones in South Korea, the United States, and Germany. To download the next version of the user skin, you must subscribe to receive the beta version through the Samsung Members application.
It is expected that soon the list of devices on which the installation of the beta version of One UI 6 is available will be expanded. Earlier it was reported that Samsung will test the shell not only on flagship smartphones, but will also make it available to users of more budget models, including devices of the A, M, F series, etc. The company’s plans to expand the geography of the shell beta test were not announced.
In addition, Samsung has posted several screenshots showing off One UI 6, showing a redesigned Quick Settings interface and a new camera widget that lets you choose where to store content before using the camera. The post also mentions the feature of assigning different wallpapers to different modes and numerous less noticeable improvements.
