Nubia has officially introduced its new flagship smartphone in China – nubia Z60 Ultra. It becomes the successor to the nubia Z50S Pro, despite the fact that it was announced only six months ago. This is the third new product from ZTE based on the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform after the separate gaming line Red Magic 9 Pro and Red Magic 9 Pro+. In addition, the nubia Z60 Ultra combines truly high-end characteristics both in terms of design and photographic capabilities. This is a strong competitor to OnePlus 12, Realme GT 5 Pro, Xiaomi 14 Pro and iQOO 12 Pro.
The main highlight of the nubia Z60 Ultra is its display. It is completely flat, has the thinnest frames and is devoid of any cutouts, since the front camera is located under the panel and is invisible by default. The fifth generation UDC (Under Display Camera) technology promises to bring the quality and brightness of photographs closer to the level of traditional cameras, which, of course, remains to be tested in practice. Here the resolution is 12 megapixels with a pixel size of 2.24 microns (density 400 ppi), it also has its own digital signal processor and AI engine.
Cameras are the second distinguishing feature of the nubia Z60 Ultra. The main 1/1.49-inch Sony IMX800 sensor offers a resolution of 50 megapixels, f/1.6 aperture, 35mm focal length and optical stabilization. For wider photos, there is an 18mm ultra-wide-angle lens (1/1.56″), 50 megapixels with f/1.8 aperture and 3-level optical stabilization, which is unique even among camera phones. A 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B (1/2.0″) is used as a telephoto lens: it has a periscopic design, a focal length of 85 mm, also has its own optical stabilization, and lossless magnification of 3 times is available.
