Vivo has taken the lead by being the first to roll out a stable version of Android 15 for its devices, beating Google and other brands to the punch. While Google Pixel phones got their update in mid-October, Vivo launched a trial version of Funtouch OS 15, based on Android 15, for its flagship devices like the foldable Vivo X Fold 3 Pro in late September. That initial update was limited to a select few users, but now the stable version is making its way to foldable phones.
Owners of the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro around the world are now getting the update, which comes with firmware version PD2337F_EX_A_15.1.8.21.W30 and is about 2.47GB in size. This latest Funtouch OS 15 build, based on Android 15, introduces a bunch of cool features, including fresh icon designs and new lock screen styles. There’s also an Ultra Game mode that boosts performance during gaming, letting you tweak the display refresh rate and touch sampling rate. Other updates include the Live Transcribe feature, enhanced text editing options in the Notes app, a redesigned settings menu for better organization and search, and more. Plus, the Android 15 update adds Circle to Search for Vivo’s flagship smartphone.
If you’ve already got the Funtouch OS 15 beta on your Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, the new update will be around 511 MB. Besides the updates mentioned, it also brings the October security patch along with it.
With this Android 15-based firmware drop, Vivo has pulled ahead of Samsung, which is still gearing up for the One UI 7 public beta, and OnePlus, which just kicked off testing its Android 15 skin for the OnePlus 12 and 12R.
