Vivo has revealed a new flagship smartphone with an advanced camera system – Vivo X100 Pro. The main block contains four main modules, and under them the inscription: Xtreme Imagination. The flash module is located outside the main camera block. One of the modules (potentially with a telephoto lens) could have a 200 MP sensor.
The characteristics of the cameras have not yet been disclosed. However, with a high degree of probability, the main sensor will have an optical format of 1 inch (as was the case in the previous generation of Vivo’s flagship). But so far there is no official confirmation of this information from the manufacturer.
It is reported that the Vivo X100 smartphone will be the first device to offer portrait videos in 4K resolution with high-quality next-generation blur, optimized skin texture and accurate color processing. Examples of the operation of these algorithms and the system as a whole are not yet provided by the manufacturer.
It is also reported that the new smartphone will offer the function of precise editing of such videos with adjustment of blur and focus position without degrading the quality of the videos.
At the same time, the Vivo X100 line of smartphones will use the proprietary V3 chip, which was developed by Vivo. It is produced using a 6 nm process technology and improves energy efficiency by 30% compared to the previous generation.
The main processor of the smartphone will be the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 single-chip system. The smartphone will be the first in the world to receive this chip – and judging by the tests in the AnTuTu benchmark, it will demonstrate the highest performance: 2.24 million points. This is a record figure at the moment among smartphones running the Android operating system.
At the same time, the presence of a high-performance MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chip will allow the smartphone to take very high-quality pictures and record video in high resolution.
Another trump card of the future new Vivo X100 Pro is the new generation of fast RAM, called LPDDR5T. This memory operates at a data transfer rate of 9.6 Gbps – that is, 13% faster than LPDDR5X, introduced in November 2022.
The top version of the smartphone from Vivo will receive 1TB UFS 4.0. A full official announcement is expected in the very near future. Vivo X100 Pro will have to compete with new generation flagship devices from Xiaomi, Samsung and others.
For example, the Xiaomi 14 Pro smartphone was previously announced with three 50MP cameras, Leica optics and a 12-bit display. Xiaomi 14 Pro (like the base model) received a main sensor – Sony LYTIA T900 50 MP, 1/1.31-inch optical format, with a pixel size of 1.2 microns (binning up to 2.4 microns) and support for the OIS optical image stabilization system. This sensor works with that same innovative Leica lens, the full name of which is as follows: Leica Vario-Summilux 14-75mm F/1.6-2.7 ASPH.
Another competitor is the future smartphone model Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra with a 200 MP camera.
The first place in the DxOMark camera phone rating is currently occupied by the Huawei P60 Pro. In second place: Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, and in third place: iPhone 15 Pro.
