There is such a compact gadget – Flipper Zero. It’s something of a “Swiss Army knife” of cybersecurity for enthusiasts. Roughly speaking, it allows you to interact with various wireless protocols and interfaces, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and RFID.
The range of available entertainment is limited only by the user’s imagination and skills: someone turns off annoying TVs in public areas, someone opens barriers, and someone bombards other people’s iPhones with false system messages.
The device can mimic signals from Apple’s Bluetooth peripherals, such as endless notifications about a new AirTag or AirPods near the device. And it is extremely difficult to get rid of such an attack without leaving the coverage area: the smartphone becomes practically useless. Fortunately, the range of action of the Flipper Zero is very small, but you need to understand that this is far from the only device capable of such manipulations.
So it might be worth breaking the habit of keeping Bluetooth on all the time.
