The Chinese company Sirui has announced a new Sirui Venus 150mm T2.9 1.6x anamorphic cine lens for full-frame cameras. Now the Sirui Venus line of optics has the following lenses: 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm and 150mm).
The new anamorphic cinema lens is designed for portrait shooting and has a minimum focusing distance of 0.58 m. Other lenses in this line have an MDF of 1 meter. Thus, Sirui Venus 150mm T2.9 1.6x will allow you to get an impressive close-up of the object.
When shooting on a 3:2 sensor, this lens offers a 2.4:1 aspect ratio, and when used with a 16:9 sensor, you get a wider 2.8:1 aspect ratio.
The manufacturer reports that the entire line of Sirui Venus optics received consistent color tones, permanent blue highlights, oval bokeh and similar functionality. All of these lenses also use the same gear positions and the same front thread for the 82mm filter.
The new anamorphic lens, according to Sirui, is suitable for close-up, portrait shots that are aimed at conveying human emotion. At the same time, the optics will provide high sharpness and low distortion. Horizontally, the new Sirui Venus 150mm T2.9 1.6x has a focal length equivalent of 94mm.
The new Sirui Venus 150mm T2.9 1.6x, as well as other optics in the line, received the following mounts: Sony E, Canon / RED RF, Nikon Z and Leica / Panasonic / Sigma L-mount. Sirui’s new cinema lens is 178mm long and weighs 1385 grams.
The new Sirui 150mm T2.9 1.6x full-frame anamorphic lens is now available from the Sirui online store. The price will be $1499. At the moment, optics are sold at a discount – for $ 1,199.
With the Sirui 1.25x proprietary adapter, you can achieve a 2x compression rate (the new lens has a 1.6x rate). This will give more pronounced anamorphic characteristics. For comparison, the company provides the following illustration:
Optical pickup of the new Sirui Venus 150mm T2.9 1.6x anamorphic lens consists of 16 elements in 11 groups and supports only manual control. It is the only one in the entire series that has a 16-bladed aperture, the focus ring rotation angle is 153 degrees. The scope of delivery of the lens is as follows:
On July 17, Sirui introduced the Nightwalker T1.2 budget fast aperture cinema lenses. This line has been specially designed for ASP-C and Super35 format cameras. All three lenses are made in the same design, the Sirui Nightwalker T1.2 Cine line consists of:

- Sirui Nightwalker 35mm T1.2 Cine
- Sirui Nightwalker 55mm T1.2 Cine
All three lenses have a 270-degree focus ring. The manufacturer also promises that the color tone of the image obtained with all three cinema lenses will be the same, which means there will be no problems during editing.
