The Chinese company AstrHori has published a teaser for the imminent announcement of a new lens for Nikon Z mirrorless cameras. The AstrHori AF 85mm F/1.8 lens with an automatic focus system will be presented very soon – December 9, 2023. The cost of the new item will be about 180 dollars.
Its optical design consists of 9 elements in 8 groups, and the minimum focusing distance is 0.79 m, the source previously reported.
It is specified that the AstrHori AF 85mm F/1.8 lens will receive an STM autofocus drive, which should ensure silent and fairly fast operation. Thus, the lens will potentially be suitable for video shooting.
The lens body itself will be made of metal. The weight of the Astrhori 85mm F/1.8 AF lens will be 620 grams. The previously published video shows an image of a lens mounted on a Nikon camera:
The lens is intended both for shooting portraits, the manufacturing company indicates, and for landscape photography and architecture.
The Nikon Z6 III camera announcement is expected in August/September 2024. One of the main innovations will be a camera matrix with a resolution of 33 megapixels (from 30 to 33 megapixels). It will work in conjunction with the proprietary Expeed 7 processor.
The camera will receive advanced video recording functions. It is specified that there will be a recording function in the professional codec ProRes RAW (12-bit) directly to a memory card. This is a fairly serious innovation, which, when working with a full-frame matrix, will give users enhanced capabilities in post-production. Also, Nikon Z6 Mark III will allow you to shoot 4K video at 60 fps without an additional crop factor. The camera will receive support for the HLG profile, as well as five-axis matrix image stabilization (its effectiveness has not yet been disclosed).
