Cosina has released two new lenses at once: Voigtlander Nokton 40mm F/1.2 Aspherical for Canon RF mirrorless cameras, and Voigtlander Nokton Vintage Line 28mm F/1.5 Aspherical VM for Leica M-mount. Both lenses will be available in January 2024.
The new Voigtlander Nokton 40mm F/1.2 Aspherical has a high aperture ratio and fairly compact dimensions. Optically, its design consists of 8 elements in 6 groups (see image below), and also has a 10-blade diaphragm (it is possible to control the diaphragm with or without clicks). Minimum focusing distance: 0.3 m.
The lens has an available aperture range: F/1.2-F/22. Viewing angle: 54.9 degrees. The Voigtlander Nokton 40mm F/1.2 lens is designed for full-frame cameras, and at the same time has electronic contacts for transmitting EXIF data. The new lens weighs 400 grams.
Maximum magnification ratio: 1:4.9. Installation diameter for filters: 58mm. The lens is supplied with a proprietary hood.

The manufacturer also released another lens: Voigtlander Nokton Vintage Line 28mm F/1.5 Aspherical VM for Leica M-mount.
The new lens optically consists of 10 elements in 8 groups (see diagram below).
The available aperture range is F/1.5-F/16. The lens has a 12-blade aperture, and the minimum focusing distance is 0.5 meters. Viewing angle – 74.5 degrees. As with the previous lens, the manufacturing company published an announcement video:
The installation diameter of the filter is 43mm. The lens hood is not included in the package. The lenses are available in two variations: Type I and Type II, as well as in black and silver.
It was previously reported that Sigma is preparing to release optics for the Canon RF-mount bayonet mount. It is clarified that at the beginning the company may show or talk about two zoom lenses for Canon RF/RF-S, as well as one prime lens. The demand for optics for this bayonet mount is quite high, the source clarifies.
