Dangbei will present a new portable projector, the Dangbei Freedo , at the IFA 2024 exhibition in Berlin . According to the manufacturer, the new product will compete with the Freestyle projector from Samsung, which has become a favorite among fans of outdoor movie screenings at campsites and summer cottages since its launch in 2022.
The Dangbei Freedo projector has several travel-friendly features, including a 60Wh battery, Google TV OS for streaming without the need for an external media streamer, and a shockproof case to carry the projector and protect it from the elements if you do decide to take it camping or on a picnic. The battery charges via USB-C, meaning you can extend the projector’s runtime by plugging it into a power bank.
The Dangbei Freedo portable projector features an integrated stand with a 100-degree tilt function. This makes it easy to set up the projector without having to angle it at an awkward angle for outdoor viewing or lug around a tripod. Once the pint-sized projector is set up, Dangbei’s InstanPro AI image adjustment system automatically calibrates focus, keystone correction, screen fit, and obstacle avoidance settings to provide the best picture quality.
Dangbei claims that the Freedo projector has 90 percent DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and 1080p resolution with HDR support. It can project images up to 120 inches diagonally, which should be enough for those who want to create a big-screen cinema in their garden or project onto a wall or ceiling in their bedroom.
The Dangbei Freedo portable projector features a 360-degree surround sound system with Dolby Audio support, which the manufacturer claims provides “powerful sound to match the impressive visuals.” The Dangbei Freedo is also a two-in-one solution for those who prefer to travel light, as it can be used as a Bluetooth speaker.
Prices for the Dangbei Freedo portable projector have not yet been announced, but will likely be revealed at IFA 2024 along with information on when it will go on sale.
