Apple Watch 9 unveiled

Although Apple will pay most attention to the iPhone 15 smartphones at today’s (September 12) presentation, the new Apple Watch 9 smartwatch should not be ignored either. Yes, the company again refused to radically change anything in terms of design, so it will be difficult to distinguish the 9th generation of watches from the 8th or even the 7th. But there are changes inside the case – for example, the company now uses a more productive (30%) S9 processor, which is equipped with 5.6 billion transistors, its own graphics processor, and a neural engine with four cores.

Thanks to the performance of the new processor, Apple was able to implement the ability to launch the Siri voice assistant directly from the screen of a smart device. Another new product uses an ultra-wideband U2 chip instead of U1, which will significantly increase accuracy when determining the location of the gadget in the Find My application. Apple has also integrated into its smartwatches a more modern version of an optical sensor that measures the user’s heart rate – this means that the gadget will more accurately determine a person’s condition.

We should also praise the display of the Apple Watch Series 9 – its peak brightness is 2,000 nits, while the previous generation had exactly half that. The new watch also gives you access to a new “double-tap” feature that lets you combine the touch of your thumb and index finger to answer phone calls and more. This is a bit like the tapping feature that Apple implemented in its Vision Pro augmented reality glasses. The new generation watches will be delivered on the watchOS 10 operating system with a large set of widgets, new dials and functions.
