The Danish brand Audiovector introduced a new series of speaker systems Audiovector QR Special Edition , which replaced the original QR line. Now the suffix SE has been added to the index of new models.
Mads Kliforth , CEO of Audiovector, said: “The QR Special Edition series is a significant step forward from its predecessors, promising an even more open, dynamic and detailed sound . ”
Audiovector itself designs and manufactures drivers and crossovers using the highest quality components – low-hysteresis coils, powerful magnets, turbulence suppression baskets and sandwich cones made of two layers of aluminum with a damping layer.
Audiovector QR Special Edition speakers use Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeters. Based on Dr. Oscar Hale’s technology from the 1960s, these speakers reach frequencies in excess of 40,000 Hz with optimal dispersion. The lightweight Mylar membrane, reminiscent of a harmonica’s bellows, is complemented by gold-plated mesh that improves dispersion and integration with the midrange driver while reducing unwanted sibilance.
The new QR Special Edition speaker cabinets feature rounded corners and are constructed from HDF (High Density Hardwood) panels and carefully damped to provide high strength and reduce resonance. Design improvements include proprietary capacitors, metal film resistors for improved heat dissipation, cryogenically treated internal wiring, and Nano Pore damping material. The Bass Reflex port has higher internal damping than previous QR Series models. Design changes include stylish gold-tone brass Special Edition badges on the front panels and fabric grill guards.
The new Audiovector QR Special Edition loudspeaker models will go on sale in the US and Europe before the New Year.
