Cabasse The Pearl Myuki: Round cult speaker goes mobile

The speakers in the Pearl series are immediately recognizable by their design. The round housings stand out from the crowd and also deliver excellent sound. Almost six years ago, the French manufacturer added smart features to the series and is now taking the next step with the Cabasse The Pearl Myuki. The speaker is now portable thanks to a built-in battery.

Cabasse The Pearl Myuki: Now with battery

Cabasse has made flexibility its motto with its smart active speakers . And so the Myuki also comes with a wide range of connection options. The speaker can be connected to a TV or console using an optical cable, and Cabasse also installs an Ethernet connection and a 3.5 mm jack socket. You can also play content via USB drives.

In addition to mono playback, the Myuki offers the option of pairing two speakers to form a stereo pair. The speakers are connected to each other via an integrated multi-room system and can be controlled via the StreamCONTROL app. This means that the music can be played via NAS or AirPlay2 . According to Cabasse, high-resolution streaming will be possible.

The integrated battery should provide twelve hours of playback. With the combination of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, the Myuki reminds us a little of the Devialet Mania .

Room calibration, DFE adjustment and smart Wi-Fi

The Myuki has a sound adjustment that adjusts the audio spectrum in real time to the listening level, dynamics and spectral content of the music being played. In addition, automatic room calibration makes setting up the speaker easier. To avoid interruptions, the Myuki has a practical Wi-Fi function integrated. This ensures that the music continues to play when the Wi-Fi speaker switches between different Wi-Fi networks.

Cabasse The Pearl Myuki: Honeycomb Drivers

Despite its compact dimensions, the Myuki is said to produce up to 109 dB in stereo mode. Cabasse has installed a broadband speaker and a 12 cm woofer in a push-push arrangement in the Myuki. The woofer membrane has a honeycomb structure that is said to ensure tight bass reproduction. The Cabasse The Pearl was already able to provide a foretaste in our test.
