French company Devialet has launched a refreshed series of Phantom Ultimate acoustic systems, featuring two models: the premium Phantom Ultimate 108 dB and the more budget-friendly Phantom Ultimate 98 dB.
The high-end Phantom Ultimate 108 dB model offers an astounding maximum volume of 108 decibels, making it perfect for larger environments. Its frequency response ranges from 14 to 35,000 Hz with a tolerance of 6 dB. This system is powered by a 1.1 kW amplifier utilizing the latest Analog Digital Hybrid (ADH) technology, which merges digital and analog Class A amplification.

The design incorporates entirely reimagined drivers: a new aluminum tweeter that broadens the frequency range to 35 kHz, an aluminum midrange driver, and a duo of woofers featuring ABS domes.
The Phantom Ultimate 98 dB model achieves sound pressure levels reaching up to 98 decibels within a frequency spectrum of 18 Hz to 25 kHz. It employs a new full-range aluminum driver along with a pair of aluminum-dome woofers.
Both models are driven by the NXP i.MX 8M Nano processor, which operates at a clock speed of 1.5 GHz, and they include proprietary sound enhancement technologies: SAM (Speaker Active Matching), HBI (Heart Bass Implosion) for enhanced bass response, and AVL (Adaptive Volume Level). The digital-to-analog conversion is managed by the Magic Wire DAC system.
The DOS 3 operating system is compatible with well-known streaming services such as Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, and Tidal Connect. It is also certified by Roon and supports UPnP. Users can access a six-band equalizer and three listening modes via the Devialet app: Music Mode, Movie Mode, and Podcast Mode.
The speakers come in three color choices: Light Pearl, Gold, and Deep Forest. The Phantom Ultimate 98 dB model is priced starting at €1,900, while the premium Phantom Ultimate 108 dB model begins at €3,800. Additional accessories include a remote control available for €199, a wall mount priced at €249, and various stands ranging from €349 to €399.
