In 2022, the French company Triangle Hi F i released wireless active monitors Borea BR02 BT and Borea BR03 BT in the Borea series, which quickly gained popularity among music lovers. And now the company has presented a new generation of acoustics – models BR02 Connect and BR03 Connect . The new products are equipped with an HDMI ARC port , which allows you to use them as an external audio system for your TV and control the speakers from the TV remote control thanks to CEC support.
Additionally, the monitors now feature a USB-B port for digital connectivity, making these compact speakers (especially the Borea BR02 BT) a natural addition to your workstation or laptop. The rest of the switching features remain the same, including a built-in phono stage for vinyl lovers. Triangle continues to collaborate with Austrian brand Pro-Ject, offering a complete stereo system that includes monitors and a turntable.
Wireless capabilities of the BR02 Connect and BR03 Connect include Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD Low Latency, supporting audio streaming up to 24-bit/48 kHz. There are coaxial and optical digital inputs, as well as an analog RCA output for connecting an active subwoofer.
The junior model Triangle BR02 Connect is equipped with a 5-inch mid/bass driver with a natural cellulose cone and an EFS fabric dome tweeter with a waveguide. The speakers are powered by a 2 x 50W Class D amplifier. The larger Triangle BR03 Connect speakers feature a 6.5-inch driver and a 2 x 60W amplifier. Both models use the ESS 9018K2M DAC chip, which is capable of decoding PCM audio up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD up to DSD256.
In the new generation of acoustics, the finishing options have also changed. Triangle now offers new Oak and Blue color options in addition to Black, Cream, Green and Light Oak options ).
The Triangle BR02 Connect and BR03 Connect wireless monitors are available now. In Europe, the junior model BR02 Connect is offered for 549 euros per pair, and BR03 Connect for 649 euros for a set of two monitors.
