At MWC 2023 in Barcelona, Nubia (a sub-brand of the Chinese company ZTE) introduced the world’s first tablet with a 3D screen that does not require special glasses. The tablet is called Nubia Pad 3D.
The tablet is equipped with built-in artificial intelligence. It was developed by ZTE in collaboration with 3D research startup Leia Inc. The latter helped develop the 3D display technology and AI processor that help the tablet display 3D content. The company also took care of the software – the tablet is equipped with applications that can convert ordinary videos or photos into 3D format. It even works in video chat.
The effect of a three-dimensional image is achieved through AI Engine Super Bionic Eye technology – the front camera with sensors with a resolution of 8 and 16 MP monitors the movement of the eyes, and the processor uses a special algorithm to convert from 2D to 3D in real time.
Nubia Pad 3D is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, a 12.5-inch 2.5K OLED screen, 33W fast charging, a 9070 mAh battery and four speakers with Dolby Atmos support. The tablet will go on sale in March at a price of 1,000 euros.
