Samsung has put an end to months of speculation by officially confirming that the Exynos 2600 is not only real but nearing launch. The new flagship chipset is expected to debut shortly before the Galaxy S26 series is announced, marking one of the company’s most ambitious technological leaps in years.
In a newly released promotional video, Samsung makes an unusually candid admission: earlier generations of Exynos chips did not meet expectations. This time, the company says it is committing to “improvement and optimization at all levels,” signaling a major architectural and performance overhaul.
At the center of the excitement is Samsung’s use of a next-generation 2nm manufacturing process — a first in the smartphone industry. Early reports suggest the Exynos 2600 may deliver performance strong enough to rival, and in some cases surpass, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite lineup, including the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Preliminary benchmark leaks appear to support these claims, hinting at a significant jump in CPU and GPU capabilities.
Samsung reportedly began mass production of the Exynos 2600 in September, aligning perfectly with its expected role in the Galaxy S26 family. However, Samsung’s long-standing regional chipset strategy will remain: not all markets will receive the S26 with an Exynos processor, meaning availability will vary across regions.
If Samsung’s promises hold true, the Exynos 2600 could mark a turning point for the company’s in-house silicon — and potentially reshape the balance of power in the mobile chipset arena for 2026 and beyond.
