Hisense A7KQ: Advanced mid-range at an excellent price

Hisense 65A7KQ reveals a number of elements, technologies and features of a slightly advanced mid-range at an excellent price.

At the design level we find a very aesthetic , very beautiful television , capable of fitting into almost any type of environment, including the most modern ones.

The cover photo already shows us that it is a model without frames, as can also be seen, up close, in the images that I place below. Dark gray plastic is used for its lower frame . The edges of the panel that remain black are only 2.8 millimeters on the sides and 13.7 millimeters on the top. The back cover is also made of plastic, but in black this time.

TV design details

To its base, in addition to plastic, a strong material such as aluminum is attached . In this way, the design of the base itself and the inclusion of this metal allow the stability of the television to be perfect .

In terms of numbers, HISENSE 65A7KQ measures 903 x 1449 x 294 mm and has a weight of 19.1 kilograms . It becomes smaller and lighter if we choose to use only the panel, on the wall; This measures 835 x 1449 x 78 mm and weighs 18.5 kg . You should consider that for this you will have to buy a wall mounting device that is compatible with the VESA standard at 400 x 200 mm .

Tuning and connectivity

Hisense 65A7KQ, like its little brothers and many other Hisense models , lacks analog tuning.  It does not have analog tuning . The rest, CI+ ECP, HbbTV 2.0.3 and a DVB-S2/T2/C digital tuning system .

Obviously, we need a slot for Common Interface and antenna, in this case a double RF plug . As we can see in the image, the TV has two USB 3.0 ports, three HDMI 2.0 inputs, RJ 45 Ethernet, S/PDIF output, a mini AV input, a mini L/R audio input and a 3.5 mm headphone jack .

Remarkable physical connectivity of the HISENSE 65A7KQ

We also discovered a double wireless connectivity system. Its composition is simple: dual WiFI and Bluetooth at 4.2 .

Image quality

The panel of this TV is 65 inches , that is, quite large, with a diagonal of 164 cm. This is a VA LCD with a Direct Full Array backlight , ideal because it allows a homogeneous distribution of lights. As a backlight, we come to UHD and the upscaling option.

The color depth of this is 8 bits to which the Frame Rate Control faking system is added . More aspects of colorimetry are the choice of Wide Color Gamut and QLED technology . The color range reached by the HISENSE 65A7KQ is 90% of the DCI P3. This compendium of elements gives rise to the perfect reproduction of 1073 million colors in very precise palettes.

The model has good colorimetry

Artificial intelligence helps us a lot in the case of AI Adaptive Depth . Based on layers, the processor makes the visualization of the content much more dramatic, very realistic. With Pixel Tuning, a very fine adjustment is made to each of the pixels on the panel; This shows better shapes and much more detail. With Smooth Motion the movements look very natural, just as they are shot, despite all the adjustments that televisions have and that, in reality, change the original content.

We have a Game mode with VRR and ALLM, a Sports mode , 60 Hz frequency, 3200:1 native contrast or 350 nits of brightness.

Finally, we discover the reproduction of HDR content, which the television performs in HDR 10+, HLG and Dolby Vision .

Audio

HISENSE 65A7KQ has two speakers that make the total sound power 20 W RMS (2 x 10 W RMS) in a logical 2.0 system.

The decoding that is carried out is Dolby Atmos , and can occur in both Dolby MS 12 and Dolby AC-4.

As Hisense usually does, the model has a user-friendly equalizer and NICAM Stereo .

Software/smartTV analysis

Interface appearance of VIDAA U 6

Although VIDAA U7 has already been launched, since this model has been around for some time now, it has remained with the VIDAA U6 version .

Hisense 65A7KQ is thus comparable to televisions from other better-known brands, since the truth is that the Hisense OS has taken a huge leap and is very, very competent.

The basis of the interface is a bar with different menus and options. You have, of course, a main content tab , showing what you can see classified in various ways. Search engine, app store, web browser (Odin), a configuration or settings menu…

You will see that there are many apps installed once you turn on the TV. Don’t worry because, although there are many classic ones, they are not the only ones, you can download many more in a store dedicated to this.

Other options that you can enjoy on your television are the launch of content from other devices (mirroring), since the HISENSE 65A7KQ has Anyview Cast and Anyview Stream .

It is expected that it also comes with an assistant, and it gets it with Alexa , to which you can speak by pressing a button on the remote control so that it answers you or follows your instructions.

Other elements worth mentioning are MHEG support , Hotel mode, built-in player to start watching your content as soon as possible, you can configure TimeShift , get subtitles in many languages, record TV, consult the content guide for the entire week , make use of teletext and manage various aspects of TV from the Vidaa app.
