Already in the third quarter of this year, Samsung has planned to start production of new MicroLED TVs using LTPS TFT technology. According to the South Korean edition of The Elec, these will be the first Samsung TVs of this type to use LTPS TFT instead of printed circuit boards (PCB).

In particular, the use of LTPS TFT allows you to create thinner than conventional models that support 4K resolution (3840 × 2160). To begin with, we will talk about the release of 89-inch TVs using LTPS TFT.

Previously, the South Korean company planned to start production in May, but the start of production had to be postponed due to the high percentage of defective components and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Samsung is also expected to release larger sized variants with 101-inch and 114-inch displays.

The LTPS TFT transistors themselves will be supplied by Taiwanese electronics manufacturer AUO. Additionally, Samsung Display is also developing similar solutions, which is expected to start deliveries later.

Samsung expects to sell 89-inch TVs for about $ 80,000 , 101- and 114-inch models will cost about $90,000 and $100,000.
