Samsung is reportedly set to launch its inaugural 83-inch QD-OLED television in 2025, although this information has not been officially confirmed. At present, Samsung Display’s QD-OLED technology, which rivals LG Display’s WOLED technology, is offered in sizes of 55, 65, and 77 inches, exemplified by models like the Samsung S95D and Sony A95L.
Next year, the range of televisions may include models up to 83 inches. This insight comes from experts on Reddit who analyzed the Samsung components database, which now features references to models slated for 2025. Among these are the QD83S95FAE and QE83S95FAT, indicating that the upcoming flagship will be named Samsung S95F, succeeding this year’s S95D and omitting the letter “E.”
Experts also highlight that the 83-inch Samsung S95F flagship will be offered with both QD-OLED and WOLED panels, mirroring the situation with this year’s S90D model, at least for the 83-inch variants. While the mix of panel types raises some concerns, the anticipated introduction of QD-OLED technology in the 83-inch category next year is certainly promising.
There is a possibility that Sony may introduce 83-inch QD-OLED models in its 2025 television lineup, following the decision to delay the refresh of the A95 series in 2024; however, this remains speculative. Samsung is anticipated to reveal its 2025 television offerings at CES 2025, scheduled to take place in Las Vegas in January.
