The official presentation of the new smartphones Redmi K40 and K40 Pro is expected on February 25. Thanks to a new leak, we have already managed to find out how the Pro version will differ from the standard Redmi K40 model.
According to available information, both smartphones will receive AMOLED displays with a diagonal of 6.81 inches with a resolution of 1440p +. Xiaomi has already officially confirmed that these devices use the same E4 luminous material as the Mi 11. Thus, it is possible that they use the exact same panel (120Hz refresh rate and HDR10 + support).
As for the differences. The top version of the Redmi K40 Pro is reportedly equipped with the flagship Snapdragon 888 processor, while the standard version is content with the Snapdragon 870 chipset (which is an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 865). In addition, a version with a Dimensity 1200 processor is also expected, it will probably be called the Redmi K40S.
It is also reported that the Redmi K40 Pro model will receive up to 12 GB of RAM (and probably increased storage capacity). However, the exact configurations have not yet been disclosed. Finally, owners of the Pro version will have access to a larger 5000 mAh battery versus 4500 mAh.
Both models will boast a 108-megapixel main camera. But ultra-wide-angle and telephoto modules will be different. For Redmi K40 Pro modules with a resolution of 13 Mp and 5 Mp are provided, and for the usual one – 8 Mp + 5 Mp. But it is not specified which modules these sensor resolutions correspond to. The front camera will be the same – 30MP.
The Redmi K40 Pro price will be around $ 465. The regular version of the Redmi K40 will cost less, and the Redmi K40S will be the most affordable among the new products.
